coloured mess

Playing around with the watercolour paints my mum handed down to me.
Just messy, experimental stuff - i'm trying to be less rigid with my use of paint, and trying to learn how to let it take its own course. (embrace the blending and meshing and spontaneity.)

  1. I like the free strokes of pain in these. They look like they were fun to paint :D

  3. Hardly a "mess". Your "experiment" looks world class to me.

  6. I love these so much!! Nothing better than a little spontaneity. It's amazing how the paint can dictate the entire outcome of a painting. That's what makes the experience so special.

  10. These are lovely. I like the candy colors of the first and the very dramatic coloring of the last. You have a wonderful range!

  13. Heloise -

in response to your question - i usually draw for at least an hour or two per day. Sometimes i'll spend 6 hours straight (or more) just drawing. it usually depends on how much work i've got and whether im feeling inspired...
and it's my day job, freelancing as an illustrator, so that's why i have so much time to commit.
