A notice from yours truly...

Perhaps you know, perhaps you don't - this year i've begun a diploma of fashion design. The hours are long, the work is intense - so i'm going to have to say a partial goodbye to this blog, to the world of illustration and to the vast and incomprehensible space of the internet for a while. Time is scarce and my priorities have changed. The attraction i had to painting has also shifted and now i feel it's time to recalibrate and learn to reignite the feeling of how much i loved it in the beginning. (When i didn't have to show it to anyone and it had nothing to do with commerce.)
Now is the time to focus on something different - I'm now learning a new set of skills from the ground up and am excited to embark upon this adventure of the mind and hands.

I shall still be here behind the scenes, so if anyone would like to contact me, then please do.
The etsy shop will still be open, and the illustrated dresses will still be for sale - perhaps i'll pop by with a new picture every now and then, but i think i'm going to be content just focusing on life for now.

It's been a pleasure - a delight - and now for something new. Wish me Luck.

  8. I know exactly how you feel, Caitlin! I've recently stopped business (yet am still around to manage the last pieces) so I can concentrate on school and actually live life off the internet and not be business-y for a good while. Best wishes! You'll be great x

  11. I'm so happy for you! I think you're a great fit on that type of course and it'll be interesting to see how you progress with your designs and how your art will be influenced by what you learn. Sometime you just need a fresh start in life. I've been a fan for a long time and hope you pop in to the blog for updates every now and again! Also I was lucky enough to receive one of your personal portraits for Christmas from my boyfriend and I wanted to thank you for taking the time to paint me!. It's definitely on the top of my list of things to save in a house fire ;-) Good luck in your course! Xx Frida

  13. Good luck Caitlin! I know just what you mean when you talk about searching for that feeling you used to get from drawing... before it became about the internet and money making - I'm going to be doing a bit of that too this year. Have fun with your future adventures. xx
